<a href="http://kansieo.com">Create a video blog...instantly.</a>

The cheapest buffet would be Perry's. Its all you can eat...I believe about $13. The food is decent, not 5 star restaurant but pretty good. A lot of locals actually go there to eat.

Its on Kuhio Avenue I believe, right on Waikiki.

Good luck!

<a href="http://kansieo.com">Create a video blog...instantly.</a>

~~Aloha RoMan~~To answer your first questions

Q-1) Is it the right time - hot? Rainy?

A-September is a great time to go..there Really Isn't a wrong time to go to Hawai'i..the weather stays pretty agreeable at all times of the year.

Q-2) Anything we should definitely bring with us?

A-Other than the typical..Swimsuit,Shorts,Sun-Screen etc...make sure you bring or buy Reef Shoes....there can be some sharp creatures on the Ocean Floor..especially in Waikiki..(you can find them at most ABC Stores and in Hotel Lobby Stores, about $20.00) also bring a Sweat-Shirt in case you get a cool evening, other than that ...pack lightly...you don't want to drag a bunch of luggage around.

Q-3) To-Do Recommendations

A-I will post a list for Oahu and Maui Below

Q-4) Is is feasible to visit other islands (.e.g big island) - what is the cost of transportation between islands?

A-You CAN Island jump but being there for only 6 days and already visiting 2 Islands I wouldn't try to FIT another Island in on THIS trip otherwise you will be spending all your time at Airports....BUT if you DO decide you want to visit another Island, then YES there are Inter-Island flights daily for about $60-$100.00, depending on the time of the flight and the Day of the week)...try Hawaiian Air (my favorite)

~~Below I will Post Our Families favorites for Oahu and Maui~~Aloha..Enjoy yourself and have a "Blue Hawaii" or a "Mai Tai" for me...LOL

Things to do on Maui...

**= the things we personally did**

**Surf**
**Swim**
**Snorkel**
Snuba
Scuba
**Spear Fish**
**Cliff Dive**
**Lay-Out**
**People Watch**
**Shop**
**Eat**
**Hotel Hop**
**Horse Back Ride**
**Luau**
**Visit Lahaina**
**Hana Hiway**
Haleakala Crater
Dinner Cruise
Zip-Line
**Para-Sail**
Catamaran Sail
Maui Aquarium
**Visit Whalers Village**
**Go to the Million Dollar Open-Houses in Kapalua**
**Watch the Fabulous Maui Sunsets**

Make sure you eat dinner at the Hula Grill and/or Leilanis in Whalers Village right on Kaanapali Beach...get a table outside and watch the Sunset from there...you will NEVER forget it!
There is also a place called Mamas Fish House that I hear is Fabulous...I have never been there but you can bet I will go next time we are in Maui~~Aloha~~
...

You all may enjoy "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Bubba Gumps" as well...both are on Front Street in Lahaina.

Also another can't miss...The Infamous Green Flash at Sunset...I have seen it only once in all the years going to Maui since I was a kid...read The Big Kahunas directions on catching it and maybe you will see this Natural Marvel your first time.

In Maui in september last time I was there is rained alot during the day but it would come and go, and the sun would be out the rest of the time. If you plan on snorkling go out to molokini crater (sp?) That is by far the most amazing thing I have EVER done!

Anytime is right to go to Hawaii. I just got back the a few days ago from maui and the weather was perfect. It never rained or anything. I would bring your swim suits. On Maui I recommend the Road to Hana, ziplinging, surf lessons (on either island), and definitely visit lahaina and kaanapali beach. I know that they jsut recently came out with the SuperFerry that goes to each island. As far as I know it's not that expensive. Have fun and enjoy it!

<a href="http://mycaffeinatedcontent.com">Create a video blog</a>

1) It is always the right time to visit Hawaii. The weather is never cold and never really hotter than 90. It rains almost everyday, but just for about 15 minutes a day. Sometimes it rains longer but not much.

2) Bring money and swim suits. You can buy everything else you need there.

3) If you have the ability to cook, don't pay the high prices of eating out. Just east of Honolulu there is a city where you can shop for food that is really inexpensive by Hawaii standards. Go to at least one Luau. The Polynesian Cultural Center is a great place to visit. When on Maui go to the plantations and eat all the fruit that you can. It is so fresh and good. Take the sugar tour.

4) It is easy to go Island hopping. You should catch a flight they leave all the time. Hawaiian Arlines is the most reliable carrier in hawaii. Visit their website for updated rates. You will be on prop planes mostly so if you are afraid of flying you can nix that idea. You have to visit the Big Island. When you go you have to do 2 things, walk on the Volcano and drink the Kona Coffee. The beaches are unbelievable.

The last recommendation that I have is to TAKE ME!!!

<a href=""><a href='http://kansieo.com'>Kansieo.com</a></a>

My husband was in the Navy, and we lived on Oahu for almost four years.

There are lots of free things to do, and they will be beautiful!

DO:
***go to Hanauma Bay (on Oahu) ...take and underwater camera because lots of beautiful fish will come up to you in the water...especially if you feed them bits of crackers.
***shop at little mom & pop places along the highways because you can find beautiful shells at a fraction of the cost
***go to a seafood restaurant because the food is super fresh and great
***go to Waikiki Beach even if just to take a few photos
***go to the north beach on Oahu (do NOT get in that water because it is very dangerous!)
***go to Waimea Falls Park (Oahu)
***take a dinner cruise (spend a little extra here because it will make a difference in the food and the condition of the ship

Do NOT:
***grab all of your stuff and run to your car if it starts raining while you're at the beach. It is most likely a passing shower, and it will be over very quickly.
***buy things at Ala Moana shopping center because things are over-priced. Go to look is okay.
***assume that because lots of folks are in the water at the north shore that it's a good idea to get in, especially if you have little kids. The currents are deadly.

Here's a good site:

<a href="http://kansieo.com/">Caffeinated Content</a>

we started out our vacation on Oahu
To _ do on Oahu --> Pearl Harbor
                                Diamond Head
                                Punchbowl Crater
                                Pali Look out
Waikiki - although this is a busy beach
                                North Shore - Waipahu

It is feasible to go to other islands - we traveled to Kauai as well. The flight two years ago cost right around $45, not sure what it costs now
They also have a super ferry transporting your vehicle to and from islands now as well

When we were there, it did rain almost daily, but it never stopped us from what we were doing.

On Maui I would definitely do --> Lahaina,
                                                   Kaʻanapali Beach
                                                   ʻĪao Needle
                                                    ʻOheʻo Gulch

Thats what I can think of right off the top of my head. have a great vacation

Anytime is a good time to visit Hawaii. Do not miss seeing the Arizona Memorial. It would be fun to visit other islands, but you will have plenty to do where you are going. Have a lot of fun... but there is no way not to have fun in Hawaii.

I'm not quite sure I'd take that kind of advice from someone named "demon". The Ohana Honolulu Airport Hotel, if you book early, is now going for $142.73 per night and is conveniently located down town. But, there are many other inexpensive to stay it's just what your needs are. I always say what's good for someone else may not be right for you. Take a virtual tour at this site,

<a href="http://mycaffeinatedcontent.com">Website content</a>

On Oahu there is so much to see, do, eat, watch!!!! Lets start with see. You can go to Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial, or climb to the top of Diamond Head Crater for a magnificent view of Honolulu. Drive to the North shore of the island, and if your timing is right, observe some of the world's biggest waves and world class surfers. Explore Waimea Bay, snorkel at Hanuma Bay and visit the Polynesian Cultural Center.
If you want American food you can go to the strip on Waikiki side and they have all types of restaurants you would see in the 48 states. If you want to try new local food, their are also plenty of places. The best place is L&L Drive-Inn. OMG! so good I miss it!!
The best place to shop would be in Waikiki if you want high end stuff. Or Ala Moana Shopping Center, Honolulu. about 15 min from waikiki.
My favorit place to shot though is Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. But I must warn you. Bring extra luggage! you will find everything that you could want and more!!

I don't know a lot about Maui but here is a link.
Visit the 1,200 foot high foliage covered cinder Iao Needle, take the scenic and winding road to Hana, visit the rain forest and water falls on the way. Watch the Humpback Whales winter passage on the west shores. Visit the historic whaling village of Lahaina, now renowned for it's quaint souvenir shops. Drive to the top of Haleakala mountain observation point for a breath taking view of the island, or stroll along the sandy shores of Kaanapali Beach.

here are some food places on Maui..
I hope that yall have the time of your lives.

Lots of music shows - my kids are around your age & they are both out at different shows tonight.

This is probably going to sound so corny - but consider volunteering. There are so many organizations that could use help, from the Humane Society to River of Life Mission.

Get into some sort of sports - tennis lessons, or golf, maybe.
