I've been there several times, and if it's your first time you will probably want to stay near Waikiki beach, however it is very touisty and almost like a little Tokyo. You will find cooler beaches on the Northside of the island where the surfers go, and it's only a short drive to get there. I am not sure if there are many places to stay over there, but if there are, I would highly recommended it. Downtown Honolulu by the beach can get pretty dangerous at night, so don't go out alone.</description>
