Living in Oahu?

kiki asked:

Seriously now, is it ridiculously expensive to live in Oahu?

Someone once told me that only doctors and lawyers could live in Oahu. Well, I figure there has to be “average-middle-class” American’s working there, so how do they live?

On a state employee’s and teacher’s salary, do you think it’d be financial ******* to move there?

Oahu prices for everything except homes are about 25 percent higher that on the mainland.

Home prices are much much higher. Go to Realtor.com to check home prices. See if you income will let you buy the home you want. Also check teachers and state employees pay.

It is costly to live in a place with a great climate.

Its not the most expensive island to live on! Its not hard, look at home prices online. Its no more expensive to live down there, then it is to live in LA! You will get paid more living there also, so keep that in mind. Good luck
