Oahu real estate? Sunset or Honolulu?

I am planning on going to Hawaii Pacific university or U. of Hawaii pretty soon and I was wondering if it was a better idea to buy my own house on Sunset because I’m an avid surfer and I want to surf Pipe and Sunset or get an apartment in Honolulu closer to the school……I know that beachfront houses are expensive. I’m spending $20,000+ on school tuition(minus housing b/c I don’t want to live on campus) and my budget for where I’m going to live ranges from $500,000-$1 mil.
No, I’m just telling you my budget so you can tell me whether I’m able to buy a beachfront house or if it’s a better idea to get a house that’s less expensive and more inland.

Oh I see, you’re telling us you have money? Well done you. I’m hung like a donkey, but you don’t see me banging on about it, do you?

Oahu
I think a home in Honolulu would be your best bet….I was there this summer, and I saw beautiful homes on the mountains, they have a beautiful views of the city and ocean….I think a beach front house would be so much more expensive….
