What is the cost to ship a car via boat from the mainland to Hawaii (Oahu)?

I’m just curious to find out how much it would cost me to ship my car over from California to Oahu. Been considering getting a vacation place there, so curious on the cost to send my car over.

I would say at least $2000. I inquired about shipping a vehicle from California to New York, and it was over $1000. Sometimes, it isn’t worth it unless you have a sentimental attachment to the vehicle. Good luck.

Depends where from, and size. I shipped a mid size from CA, and it cost me $1700 (Matsons). If i would have shipped from New Orleans it would have been $2600.
I looked into shipping my van and the prices were close $1900(CA) & $3100(NEWOrleans).

Believe it or not, UPS does large-scale shipping like that, so give them a call.
Otherwise, search the Internet for freight companies that deal with ocean crossings [one keyword that might work best is "intercontinental"].
Bear in mind, however, that it’s likely going to take at least six days for your car to reach Hawaii. If you’re looking to get a “vacation place” there and will be there only for 1-2 weeks each year, you would probably be better off just renting a car there. Hell, even if you were there for a couple of months each year, the rental car would probably be cheaper.

I shipped mine for about $875, maybe a little closer to $900 (can’t remember exact) but that was from California; it might be more from somewhere else. Check out matson.com for more info
